Here are just a few kind words left by some of our clients, there are just too many to mention.

We have had a wonderful holiday - many thanks for your kindness and for making our holiday so memorable. Hopefully we will be back next year.
2008 - The Rayners, Essex, England

Our stay at Gites Trepart exceeded our expectations. L'Ecurie combines just the right amount of rustic charm and modern amenities. The relaxing setting was a wonderful  base to explore the Dordogne. Your guidance helped us to select some wonderful  places to see. We leave with lasting memories of France. Thankyou so much for your hospitality.

Wow! Walking through the doors after a long but relaxing drive through France - what a pleasant surprise to find this house. A fabulous few days - some sun and swimming, a little tennis, a canoe trip and cycling the trails. Great stuff. We will be back! Soon.

Thankyou for making our stay in the Perigord so wonderful. Le Chai is lovely and the setting next to the river Cole is so peaceful and picturesque. We all loved the house and facilities, but we most especially appreciated your warmth and gracious hospitality.

To use a good old Aussie expression our stay at the L'Ecurie gite was "bonza". Amanda and Giles were so hospitable and the accomodation just perfect. It was so good to know at the end of each day we could return to L'Ecurie, kick back and relax in far more comfort than we could have imagined.
2008 - Lee & Lindsay Hathaway, Victoria, Australia.

Giles and Amanda thankyou very much for such a warm welcome to your lovely place, L'Ecurie, at Trepart. We enjoyed all the amenities, the girls especially enjoyed the canoeing on the river and trips to Brantome and Perigueux. The lovely location helped us relax and unwind. We hope to return very soon and would recommend Trepart to anyone visiting the region.

Have had a lovely week at "Le Chai" just chilling, and eating and drinking far too much.  Have spent the week happily pottering round little villages, having long lazy lunches.  It's lovely listening to water, whilst sat on the patio of an evening.  The canoes were great fun, and managed not to fall in!  Would love to come back some day soon.
2010 - Marpole/Smallman family, England

Definitely recommended....well appointed, comfortable and spacious.  Amanda and Giles were the perfect hosts.  They made our holiday with their wonderful hospitality, lovely family and great setting.
We all agreed after our stay that this has been the best Gite we have stayed in, in all the years we have been to France.
With all the fabulous towns, villages and waterways, there is a lot to appeal to any visitor to the area.
We would love to return and would not hesitate to commend.
2012 - Family Stewart, England

Spellbinding ... What a hidden gem!"
My family has just returned from 2 weeks at L'Ecurie Gite... wishing we had booked for 3 weeks and looking forward to returning soon. L'Ecurie (and the neighbouring gite) are of an excellent standard, with plenty of considerate touches (bountiful welcome pack of food and drink, quality furnishings and linen, coffee machines ... and coffee, change of linen during your stay, etc). The photos on the website don't capture just how beautiful, relaxing and well equipped a place this is.

As you enter the gite from the cobbled private driveway (shared with the sister gite) you are taken back with the size of the gite with its open plan layout downstairs and beautifully preserved beams visible in the rafters. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need for your stay. 3 double sofas sit around a huge tv (excellent for DVDS). Expansive table and chairs for indoor dining. Upstairs are 3 very large rooms with very comfy beds :) and excellent standard of bathrooms.

Then you step out of the back door onto your secluded balcony patio (fenced off for safety) and the first thing that hits you is the beautiful sound of the river and weir, situated 200m across the lawns with trees all around. Here you will find 2 canoes providing plenty of fun for all the family.

Out the front of the property (across the driveway is the secluded and fully enclosed private pool and garden) with an abundance of loungers in shade and full sun, alongside table tennis and badminton with swings for the younger visitors (bikes are available for the older ones). A perfect place to while away the hours.

As for location, that too cannot be bettered. A short walk from the village, 10 min from Brantome and about the same from St Jean de Cole (both of which have to be visited) and within easy reach of so much more.

And then,of course, there are the Rothwells. A wonderful family who offer a genuine welcome to their guests. Thank you for making our stay so much fun.

The only problem I see in the future is that once the word is out on how good this is we wont be able to get booked in again!!!

“As ever, a wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars We've now stayed a couple of times with Amanda & Giles & look forward to our third......hopefully next year, for longer, & possibly with our grandchildren.   Relaxed & very hospitable hosts + excellent accommodation & facilities.
What more do you want! It's a charming area of France.

2012 - Famille Sargentini

We have had such a geat time at your gite.  You're the best hosts we have ever had.  The house is wonderful and the pool is marvellous.   Thank you for everything!

Veel groetjis

The gite has once again been amazing.  We do wish we could stay longer but we must return to our normal lives in England.  The children have been amazing, their hospitality and their kindness was so warming towards our children.    We'll see you next year for some more fun!  See you then!! xxx

2012 - Family King, England

Back again... This year for 3 weeks.  We have loved every second and are dreading going back to cold, damp London.  BIG, BIG thank you for everything.  Really enjoyed the clay shooting... we must find somewhere to do it back home!

See you again next year xxxx

2013 - Family Mahoney, England

Thank you for making us feel so welcome here at L'Ecurie and for all the wonderful extra touches, plus your kind hospitality, which have been much appreciated and made our first holiday in this part of France a really special one.  The gite is fantastic!  We have loved Brantome, Perigueux, cycling the Voie Verte from Thiviers to St Jean de Cole and Milhac - there were many more things we would like to have fitted in but we have enjoyed "chilling out" here too and the kids have loved the badminton and table tennis (and pool!).  We would love to come back and hope we might be able to return next year.

2013 - Family Frost, England

We stayed at Le Chai Gite as two families, with teenage boys.  Amanda and Giles were most welcoming and made us feel completely at home.  The gite is lovely.  The ground floor has a well laid out combined lounge, dining room and kitchen, with patios at front and back and upstairs has four large bedrooms.  There is lots to do at the gite - a swimming pool, table tennis and, at the bottom of the garden a river where you can canoe.  We made good use of the bikes which Amanda and Giles provide and the tennis court, for which we had a free pass, in the local village.  The gite is in a lovely part of the Dordogne with lots to explore.  We would highly recommend this holiday location.

Le Chai Gite Livre D'Or - August 2014 - Cora, Graham & Monica

Thank you for a much needed, lazy, relaxing break.  We had everything we needed, lots of space, weather and of course a fishing rod.  Hopefully my back pain from reeling in the mighty "Dace" will subside soon!!  Thanks also for organizing Presley to bake with Pippa too, we have just about finished the Brioche now.
We would love to return again at some point, it really is a perfect place to relax.
Le Chai Livre D'Or - August 2014 - Family Ashton

We stayed for a week and this is a super place - a really well designed gite with good quality fittings and lots of space in the living area for our 5 month old to practice crawling and plenty of things outside for our 3 year old to experience (canoeing, apple-picking, squealing in the pool) and tire himself out!  Love that everything was thoughtfully provided, from the well-equipped kitchen to all the things set out for the baby.  There is a supermarket and a good boulangerien in the village about a minute's drive away.  We came for a relaxing, stress-free holiday and that is exactly what we got.
Idyllic gite - highly recommended
Tripadvisor Review - September 2014 - by Mark G

Thank you so much.  What an idyllic place!  We've had a thoroughly enjoyable and restful week.  Adam has had a great time in the pool and running around the garden and baby Leo has had a great time enjoying new sights and sounds. (Thanks for providing all the baby stuff we needed).
We can't think of any way with which the place could be bettered and will be recommending it to all and sundry.
L'Ecurie Gite Livre D'Or - September 2014 - Lian Ni, Mark, Adam & Leo

L'Ecurie is an imaginatively developed property that comfortably sleeps six adults.  The living areas are very spacious with a well equipped and easy to use kitchen and dining area.  One special feature is a very efficient wood-burning stove which we enjoyed on several evenings as the weather was unseasonably cold at night-time.
The outlook from the rear of the property is exceptionally beautiful with the constant sound of birdsong and the river.  There are sitting and dining areas that catch the sun at different times of the day and we had extended breakfasts and lunches most days of the week.  There is also plenty of shade for those who prefer it and I imagine the building would be delightfully cool when the temperature is very hot outside.  The pool area is great for after lunch siestas.
The Gite is within easy access of several lovely villages and small towns.  We particularly enjoyed Brantome with its market of excellent local produce.
Our hosts were welcoming and helpful without being obtrusive.  Altogether a lovely place to stay - we just weren't there long enough!
A spacious well-equipped space in delightful surroundings with friendly ad helpful hosts
Tripadvisor Review - May 2015 by Mid-Wales

A terrific gite, every possible activity covered - lots of interesting cycle rides and walks in this area.  I enjoyed meeting you all and would have no hesitation in recommending this destination to all in Jersey.
L'Ecurie Gite Livre D'Or - June 2015 - Roger N.

A week of peace and quiet, then a week with the "luvvies" and their production of Shakespear's 'As You Like It', which was wonderful.  Roger and I enjoyed our time here as always - I thought two weeks might be too long, but I could quite easily have stayed another week.  However my dog wants me back!  Thank you for everything as always.
L'Ecurie Gite Livre D'Or - August 2015 - Terri & Roger

It's been an absolute blast and I can't wait to return and do it all over again!  Many thanks for looking after us all during the week.
A plus tard!
